Shiru is so excited to welcome Nick Gulbrandsen as Director of Lab and Facility Operations.
In this role, Nick will manage all of the critical infrastructure in the labs, and building in general, to enable the Shiru team to grow our operations in our new headquarters in Alameda, CA.
Nick received his MS in Biotechnology Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and BS from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg Massachusetts. Nick has been addressing and supporting the needs of biotechnology industries for several years, recently as Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations at Notable Labs; a predictive precision therapeutics company developing a new class of oncology medicines. Before Notable Nick worked various laboratory roles before acting as Laboratory Manager at Generate Life Science; a global life sciences company helping families through assisted reproductive technology.
“Nick brings a collaborative attitude and has experience working in regulated environments,” said Michael Madonna, Director of Protein Science at Shiru. “Nick will help Shiru to grow and be ready as we move into the commercial realm.”

Outside of work, Nick can be found hiking nearby trails with his dog, adding to his collection of houseplants, cooking new recipes, or planning his next travel adventure.
